From the ground up…
Cross Communications was founded with a commitment to accessibility, understanding, and connection, guided by values deeply rooted in the Deaf community’s vibrant culture.
The journey began in Austin, Texas, where founder Lindsay Cross immersed herself in a thriving Deaf community during her formative years. These experiences shaped a lifelong belief in the power communication has to broaden perspectives, cultivate empathy, and foster belonging.
Recognizing the unique challenges faced by Deaf individuals and interpreters in smaller, rural areas, Cross Communications was created to bridge the gaps in access and support. With a focus on advocacy, ethical service, and skill development, the agency quickly became a trusted resource for both Deaf community members seeking culturally competent, high-quality interpreting services.
Beyond interpreting, Cross Communications empowers communities by providing job skills training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Through shared learning and a commitment to ethical, skilled, and culturally aware services, the agency continues to drive meaningful change.
Cross Communications will always remain dedicated to ensuring equal access and fostering strong connections—because communication is more than just words, it’s about belonging.
